Key Practices

Prevention:

“Prevention is better than cure” holds always true to Organic Farming context , few key practices needs to followed for better prevention diseases and pests

• Periodic Sprays: Periodic sprays of Organic Growth Promoters, Plant Resilience, Natural Pesticide and Natural fungicides are very much needed to prevent any pest and fungal attack .

Monitoring

• Traps: Traps are used to Monitor the pest Density and Prevent Pest from attacking the Crop.
  • Examples: Fruit Fly Traps
• Sticky Traps: Yellow and Blue Sticky Traps to monitor certain pests density.
• P:D Ratio – Pest and Defender Ratio , in Nature we have two types of insects one is Harmful and one is friendly in simple terms Harmful are Pests which are vegetarian and feeds on plants by causing damages and second category are Defenders which are Non – vegetarian and feed on Pests and don’t eat crops thus protecting the crops

Diversion:

• Border Crops: Border Crops are very essential in two ways 1) external wind factors 2) Attract pests.
  • Many border crops like Castor oil, Marigold and other crops are used to attract the pest and divert the Pest.
• Cover Crops – We use several Cover crops like SunHemp, Daincha , Cowpea and other crops to attract the pest and diverting from main crops.

Control:

  • Mulching is very essential in control weeds and lot of pests that originates from Pest , refer our Zero Weedicide policy.
